Ray Ban aviator sunglasses are what people think of when you just mention aviator sunglasses. Since the first Ray Ban aviator sunglasses were made decades ago here have been many copycats, none of which can match the original. Ray Ban has come up with new styles and models over the years, but I personally like the look of the classic signature style Ray Ban aviator sunglasses.
Ray Ban Aviator RB3044 (small), RB3025 (medium) and RB3026 (extra large) -
The pair that I have is the Ray Ban Aviator 3026. This is because I have a large head and the frame of these sunglasses fit me just right. I also prefer the classic looking gold frame with "green" lens. While I have worn mirrored lenses in the past, I tend to lean towards lenses that are not mirrored.
While I am limited to the RB3026 because of the size, most people will be comfortable in the RB3025. This model has many more options to choose from:
- Polarized lenses are available on some of the RB3026 models
- Several lens colors, including fading colors
- Gold, silver, or black frame choices
- Lens sizes - 55mm, 58mm, or 62mm
Beware of counterfeit Ray Ban Aviator Sunglasses -
I paid around $100, including shipping for my pair. This is the going rate, give or take $10-30. If you happen across a deal for some Ray Ban aviator sunglasses for A LOT less it is very likely that they are not authentic. As with any name brand product, Ray Ban aviator sunglasses have been knocked off by the copycat factories for decades.
While the counterfeits can be hard to spot, here are a few things to look for - the Ray Ban logo distinctly displayed on the inside of the temple on the frame. Also, look for the Ray Ban logo on the upper corner of the lens. The sunglasses should come in a Ray Ban branded box and come with a branded case as well as product and warranty information. Ray Ban aviator sunglasses are made in Italy so you can also look for the "Made in Italy" mark.
